Lexus Oil Recommendation Changes for GX460
I just found out some very interesting info about the GX460.
The GX460 comes with synthetic 0w-20 (Factory Fill) and the new change interval is 1 year or 10K miles.

Same for my Prius. I think that this is a new thing across Toyota and Lexus. I think that the new 4runner is the same way.

What other Toyota/Lexus is using 0w-20 synthetic factory fill (Besides Prius)? I know 5w-20 was kicked around.

Doesn't the new 4runner use it?

2AZ–FE Camry
2AZ–FE Solara
2AZ–FE Highlander
2AZ–FE RAV4 (ACA3#)
Those run the 0w-20. I think Eneos is the factory OE for the J Vin number vehicles.

HA! What do you think as a company would do if they offered free maintenance for 2 years? ...Extended drain intervals would save Toyota money if they have to service your car free for 2 years. BMW does the similar at 15K intervals but then again they offer 4yr 50k free maintenance. But seriously most fully synthetic oil is totally capable of those types of drain intervals. Some brands like Amsoil claim even longer then that. Personally im a anal person and i don't mind doing oil changes so i do them every 6K with Synthetics, you can say i waste money, but for me i like that piece of mind and the feeling of fresh oil in my precious 2UZ ;)

I agree 110%. I have a 99 T4R and an 06 GX and we change the oil in them every 5-6k miles like clockwork. I probably would try to do the 1yr/10k interval IF I had a vehicle w/ 0W20, but I don't, and probably won't for a very long time...or until I have to replace my current 4Runner... ...as my daily driver, that is. I will always have my 3rd Gen as a toy truck

I run only off the shelf synthetics like QHorsepower, QTorquepower and Pennzoil Platinum depending what is on sale. I always change at 5000 miles. Sorry, but 10k is never going to happen in one of my vehicles because I run some of them to 150k plus and have never had an engine problem yet.

The 2010 RX350 uses synthetic as well and requires an oil change every 10K. The maintenance light still comes on at 5K and says "oil maintenance required"
