How to remove candy from carpeting?

So my wife decided it'd be a brilliant idea to pass my 3.5 year old son some hard candy over the holidays. A few days later, I remove the floormats to find a piece of hard candy fused to the carpeting.

Any suggestions on how to remove it?

Your best bet is probably to try and heat it up and pick it out, or if you can, cut it out (in which case you don't really need to heat it up). I bought a used car that had what I hope was candy stuck under one of the floor mats - bothered me nonetheless so I tried to pick it out as much as I could. It was tedious but most of it came out.

After you heat it up and get most of the big stuff out, if you have access to a handheld carpet shampooer that usually works...takes time, but the hot water and shampoo do amazing things.

I agree. Heat and water will be your friend here. Most candy is sugar which obviously will dissolve. It will take some time but should come out and finish with a carpet steamer or spot removal for carpets and you should be good as new.
