Shop recommendations in El Paso?

Hey all,
I may be looking to have a few things done to my newly acquired 97' SR5. The battery cable needs replacing and I'm not sure if the timing belt has been done. I'll be asking the previous owner tomorrow. It's got 116K on the odometer so if he hasn't done it I'll be looking to do it soon.

I'm generally too impatient to do my own work. I limit it to oil changes and minor maintenance in order to keep my sanity.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Matt

Congrats on the pickup. 116 is really low milage for that year. I have a 2000 sr5 w/ 204ish. I changed both of my battery cables a few months ago, took like 10 minutes and 10 bucks from autozone. Do that yourself, dont pay for that. As far as the timing belt goes, thats a pain in the butt procedure. When you get it done make sure they do your waterpump and gaskets as well.

Ah. El paso huh? Tinker toys on the west side is the only place I would go. Scott and the owner "forgot his name" are very well versed in our trucks. Good guys too. They are off redd road by 84 lumber. If you are dead set on a dealer I've had better luck with **** poe, but I hate dealers period.

Thanks!
I had seen some of your posts in the photo thread and saw Franklin in the background and figured you were in EP. I was going to PM you if I didn't get any responses.
Nice rig by the way.
I prefer not to go to the dealership. I can probably handle the battery cable myself. The TB, not so much.
I'm looking at upgrading the suspension soon. I'll probably pay someone to do it right. TinkerToys is close to me so that's good.

Getting ready to do the TB myself. Never done it but can't afford to pay someone. If I had the cash I was gonna take it to tinker toys. I can definitely do or help you with the suspension when ur ready.

Good luck with the TB. If you need help let me know, I can hand you wrenches and drink beers. haha

I may take you up on the suspension offer. I trying to decide between the Sonoran Steel factory suspension kit and a 3in lift kit from toytec. The stock suspension is getting pretty soft so I'll be doing it sometime in the next few months.
