I use the 2 bucket method of washing my truck (when I'm able to wash it!). I use Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo from autogeek.net. I bought a 64 oz. bottle of the stuff 2 years ago and I have over half of the bottle left. I'm sure that's because we are still under water restrictions here in Atlanta.

I also use one of their sheepskin wash mitts and microfiber and chamois to dry my truck.

I use Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant also from autogeek.net. I usually put on two coats and it'll last about 4 or 5 months. The truck looks good and water beads off the truck nicely. I'm of course being optimistic about rain here in Atlanta this year.

Seems that I am in good company for using Mequiar's Gold Class as well. I used it on my Lexus and now the T4R gets it. I've been very happy with all of the Mequiar's products that I have used.

I have an odd ball for the group. I hate Turtle Wax products, but man their Zip wax car wash is cheap and works amazing.

I did professional detailing for a few years and nothing could comapre to the Turle wax Zip Wax. I have probably used everything out there and this stuff still surprises me. Its very gentle, doesn't leave residue, and its cheap!

DP or Pinnacle Bodywork. They are super slick and great grabbing the dirt.

Heck. I have not hand washed my truck since my ex-wife told me I loved my truck more than her. That was 21 years ago. Mike's Car Wash here in Indianapolis has done it for me since 1987.

I know I need to get over it and get it on again. Some day soon I will. Come Spring 2009.

Zip Wax car wash (by Turtle Wax). I have a gallon of this stuff and have had for 20 years! Still haven't used it all. Just put an ounce in a bucket then add about a gallon of water. Will do the whole car and then some!

I rarely wash my vehicles, but I have found that a squirt of liquid cascade dish detergent does better than most " car wash soaps" I have tried. Rinses clean without spots.

New to the forum but not new to detailing. Optimum is my go-to for soap and ONR rinseless washes. Works great in my foam cannon as well. Good carwash soap isn't really that more expensive that some of the chain store stuff but more effective and safer for the paint.

Problem with dish detergent is that it strips most waxes or sealants. In fact it's common to use Dawn to remove traffic film and previous protectants before polishing or waxing. I'd use something that's at least ph neutral but it all depends what you're after. I'm think kind of freak that waxes my door jambs so take that for what it's worth.

I detail on the side and have tried a few more expensive ones.

Now I just use Meguiars Deep Crystal Car Wash. It’s cheap at the $ Store and works just as well as most others.

I think there was a big discussion about dish soap on Autogeek. Personally I think it’s fine and I doubt it does any damage to plastic/rubber. It does leave surfactants that will mask beading but it does not strip wax

I use the pink Meguirs wash and wax. Does a good job cleaning and don't seem to leave any residue. Smells good too.

I've been using CarPro Hydro2 Touchless Silica Sealant after my washes and that keeps water beading off for about a month or so and makes the paint feel brand new.
