Emblem Removal??
I'm thinking I'd like to pull the SR5 emblems of the doors and rear Toyota and 4Runner badges. Are they just glued on or are there locater pins on any of these emblems??
TIA

Dental floss and a hair dryer. Do a search for 'debadge'. No pins, only adhesive.

Not sure if people are doing that here. I picked that up from a BMW e36 forum a few years back.

I just pulled ALL of the letters off my '04 SR5 with relative ease. Hair dryer + floss + 3m Adhesive Remover did the trick perfectly! Also, I've had my 'Runner for just over two years now, and there was absolutely NO trace of any fading whatsoever. In all seriousness, the thing looks AWEsome without the letters. JDM tails are next on the list...!

I peeled all of the badges (very carefully) from my Runner and used Goo Gone to remove the remaining adhesive. My question to you all is: Is there any law that prohibits debadging a car?

Well, to me. I don't think it should be illegal because police officer should already be trained to identify a certain vehicle. They don't have to know the exact year but at least know the make and model. I can identify several cars without looking at the emblems. Just by the body style, head/tail lights, etc. But that's my input.

heat gun is the prefered method since it makes removing the adhesive under easier as well.
waxed floss is also another manner of doing it.
simple green, greased lighting, or somethign even like a light swirl cutter is good for removing adhesive.

I let my car in the sun during the day and did it in the mid afternoon, so the blow dryer was plenty....
