No torque wrench?
If you don't have a torque wrench, do what the box instructions say. Usually this means tightening by hand until you can't anymore, then tightening by socket wrench another 1/2 to 2/3 turns to compress the crush washer on the plug.
It was on the replacement plug boxes that I installed at 30K.
