Thanks!
I have a similar situation, I called a dealer and asked if I could buy an uncut key and if they'd service that. They said yes. You can get an uncut key for like 10 bucks on amazon. You have to be certain to get the correct key. In my situation it needs to have an actual "dimple" on the metal portion of the key. Unfortunately servicing the key is like 58 bucks.

No Master Keys (Just Valet)

I have a similar issue. Recently purchased a 2016 SR5 from a dealer. Looks like the car came from auction, but is in great shape. Unfortunately all I received was 1 key which turns out to be the valet key. Anyone know what my options are? Cannot find much on the current gen. and key issues in the forums.

When I bought my used 2007 4unner, I didn't know it only had a valet key. I have lost that and it was my only key.

The Portland dealer said it will cost about $35 for master key and $80 to program it and it will arrive tomorrow afternoon.

The Gresham dealer quoted me about $400. They said I would have to tow the car there and it will take hours to program a master key.

Which dealer is correct? Thanks.

**I found my valet key so I won't have to tow it.

I just purchased a 2004 Sport Edition and have one black key and a dead key fob that I’m not sure if it works. I just locked my glovebox with the key and now it won’t unlock. Did I just seal all of my papers in there?? Is there any other way to unlock the glovebox?

The only way "you" can unlock the glove box is with the key, if you locked it with the key it should unlock with the key, the key or the lock maybe slightly worn, I would keep trying to unlock it, try either slightly pulling outward on the key while trying to unlock it, just keep trying wiggling the key in and out little bit while trying to get it unlocked, otherwise the only way to get it opened is by breaking the lock or the lock keeper/strike, but by doing so the glove box will not stay closed afterward unless you replace the broken part/s.

Another option is getting a Locksmith to try and get it opened.

Turns out that my key was just worn out! Once I had the dealership cut me a new key from my VIN, it unlocked right away! Thanks for the help!
