Which Oil Filter do you use?
There are many Oil filters out there for all kinds of driving (racing; dusty conditions; stop and go; etc..).
I know we can not cover all the Oil filters on the poll so if you use any oil filter not listed above please share your brand.
Also if you want please specify which type of filter you use for example: Fram: High milage , Tough Guard or Extra Guard
Purolator: Purolator or Purolator ONE
I currnetly have Purolator ONE and moving over to FRAM XL Guard
Running Amsoil 0W30 now on its 8487th Mile and about to be replaced with more of the same.
Thanks

Mobil 1 filters here. Fram is garbagae. Purolator, Bosch, and AC Delco are one step above garbage.

I started out using Fram XL (~$12/ea) for about a year, then switched to Mobil1 since it's a buck cheaper and has better reviews. The Fram XL is actually a pretty good filter as it uses synthetic fiber media (same as M1). It's nothing like the ol' orange Fram filters.

Used Fram, Pennzoil, AC Delco on other vehicles. Toyota OEM filters for all my Toyotas only. Toyota filters are the not much more expensive than aftermarket and sometimes even cheaper.

So far, I have used nothing but OEM Toyota filters when I changed the oil in my 4Runner. I bought four of them on sale for $5 each; and I used the last one a week ago when I changed the oil. Sheesh! I only have 12,500 miles on my '05 4Runner and I have changed the oil four times already -- and I use Mobil-1 synthetic in the crankcase.
:awais:
I have never experienced any filter-related trouble on any vehicle I have driven in the past 25 years, even when using bargain-brand filters. Seems to me that I always change both the oil and filter long before either of them have reached the end of their service life. (After 3000+ miles, Mobil-1 is barely even dirty. Don't know about the inside of the filter, but I have never had any oil-related failure in any car or truck I have driven.)
I use Mobil-1 in my Sentra also, but typically use a Wal-Mart or Fram filter. No trouble in the Sentra - even after just shy of 78,000 miles. Knock on wood!!

I currently have 6500 on the AMSOIL Ea Oil filter and 0W-30.
I have used Wix and Toyota on my 4Runner. Wix, Honda, Bosch, and Purolator Pure ONE on my Acura.
Who makes Toyota's filters? I know Nissan is Purolator. Honda was just a Fram.

I just put in a 'small' order with AMSOil for me and some others.
There will be a 6 vehicles running the EaO filter.
I'll also have my 0W-30 (with EaO) analyzed after 8000 miles.

I recently changed the oil in the runner and used a Supertech from walmart ST-16 on it. Supposedly the Supertech's are made by Champion and have been tested to be of pretty high quality.
It had the new core in it so it wasn't that much bigger than a 3614, but supposedly filters much, much better.
Bob the oil guy swears that you don't even need an oil filter these days... Not sure I agree with his logic though, so I'd choose a filter that has a higher flow rate over a higher filtration rate. I'm pretty sure the ST filters are a nice compromise.
I run changes every 5k when the maint light flashes.
