Vacuum cleaner for 4runner

Hi, for extended trips I want to be able to vacuum the car in the middle of nowhere, does anyone have a portable one they take? 12V cigarette lighter or 120V inverter powered? I want one with a little hose as well to get in all the nooks and crannies, the typical small hand-held vacuums don't have a hose and just suck in their mouth like a bottom feeding fish which is really awkward for a car.

That seems a bit overkill for what I want. I did a simple google search and found a good link

I love these and you can knock them down to hand held size. It's cordless and the battery lasts about 16 minutes so it's enough time to vacuum the whole vehicle. I vacuum the house more often because it's so light. They sell a short version for cars but the whole thing is not much more and it's more versatile.

Or use a blower?

I use a computer air blower, mostly because I do tech for a living and had one handy. But that little sucker is powerful, and you don't need to change the canister. My wife used to steal it to blow leaves off our driveway, so I had to hide it. They do have ones that are reversible, if you prefer to suck the dust up.

Here's a pic:

I have something like the following...different company but looks exactly the same. It is NOT for deep cleaning, but good for vaccuming up grass, loose dirt and cheerios..

I believe there are more powerful ones out there (still 12VDC)...if you are willing to spend the money.

What a great idea. I'm just going to put my ShapVac mini in the back for extended trips. Dry or liquid, it'll have me covered.

Don't even bother about the like of black and decker powered from a cigarette lighter. Better choose one basing on the reviews here
I would hardly say they are useless. The Black & Decker Dustbuster Lithiums are awesome for $40. You can run them cordless or you can plug it into your 120v inverter in the back to extend the life by quite a bit. It has great power, its small and easy to clean. I pack mine with camping gear always...

My recommendation for you to try ThisWorx Portable Vacuum Cleaner. The vacuum weighs only 2.4 lbs but has a high power, 106W & 8.8 amps motor and metal turbine for the ultimate suction power. The 16ft power cord connects to the car’s 12V lighter port, for maximum coverage.

What I do is bring a battery operated leaf blower. Open all the doors and blow everything out. Gets all the dust out of dash, vents etc. Works great to blow off all the dust off the outside as well. Clean up good when you get home.
