An Excel spreadsheet works for me. I track mileage, date, and what happened in three columns.

On a second tab, I keep a list of part numbers for future reference.

Same here along with gas mileage. Excel works great.

I'm currently using Automotive Wolf. Click below for info. Although Excel does the job too.

Yep I use Excel because you can customize the layout! On the first Sheet are the maintenance specifications, so the columns are set up/labeled for part numbers, brand, price, quantity, torque valves, and comments. Sometimes I list what metric socket is needed for the job. Like the 12mm bolts to remove the skid plate for access to the oil filter and the 14mm socket to remove the oil drain plug.

Then on the second Sheet I log the actual work performed, date, mileage.

I have four vehicles so my Workbook has several Sheets.

Microsoft Office also has a couple Templates that you can download for free for almost anything that you can think of. The link provided is an example of an automtive record. There are at least three of these. You can modify them as well.

Awesome template greasefingers. Too bad I'm feeling lazy right now to import data from my current sheet to the template. Another item for the 'to do' list.
