Toyota maintenance-remove aftermarket skids?

When its time for toyota scheduled maintenance, should I remove my RCI skids myself before hand? Or let them do it? I have the engine, transmission, transfer case skids for my 2018. I have read several things about issues with service technicians and even OEM skids, so was just wondering what others do.

And I know many folks have the time and/or enjoy doing these things themselves. Between the time, free maintenance, and lifetime powertrain warranty if serviced at toyota, Im going to sit in the Toyota wait room and get some work done while I wait.

Thanks!

I take the skids off myself, and do my own oil change, grease job, and undercarriage inspection. (even in 30 degree weather)

If you are going to take the skids off, that's 70% of the labor right there.
You can get back to your job, while the oil dips out the pan.

I don't have time to argue with the shop on stripped bolts and missing skid spacers.

I heard that the new multi-part filters are a PIA, so maybe it's worth considering the shop do those.

Good luck with your decision...

Yeah, taking off the skids will be no small amount of work, but I can always do that a few days ahead of time.

Ultimately, going to have the shop do the regular maintenance, so just seeing what others are doing in terms of taking off skids themselves or letting the toyota technicians do it as needed.

RCI skids shouldn’t need removing
I’ve done 2 oil changes on my 18
Access door for filter and hole for oil drain

The lifetime power train warranty is much more for them to get you to all you maintenance there than to cover you. Look into and see if you really are covered or if saves you money

No brainer, do it your self. They may add to the bill if they do it..
