6-Quart Box of Oil

Hadn't seen boxed oil before the other day. Ended up buying it for several reasons:

- Box packaging eliminates most of the plastic
- Having 6 quarts vs. 5 is more convenient given my '07 V6 takes 5.5 qts.
- Very economical at $15.47 for 6 quarts
- Comfortable with the quality (I believe that differences in various oils are so minimal as to be essentially insignificant as long as the oil meets manufacturers' specifications.)

The only apprehension I have is that the oil is in a plastic bag in the box and I'm not sure how well pouring it will go (though it claims to be "glug free"). I'll follow up here once I do my next change.

This worked great, to the point I'm comfortable saying it's the smoothest pouring oil I've ever used. Not a glug, pause, splash, anything.

The box has a tear-out panel so you can see how much is left, useful since a 4th Gen V6 only uses 5.5 of the 6 quarts. (There's more than .5 quarts in it here, this was taken before I finished.)

Nice...it would be perfect for my 1.5Gen Sorento, but us 4th Gen V8 owners would still need to by an extra quart.

No, we must start another discussion on which oil types and brands are best - LOL!

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.

Agreed, because two microns less wear over 15 years of ownership is worth paying $10 more per oil change! (Well, it probably is to some and more power to them, but not me.)
