Rust prevention other then Fluid film?

Looking for a more permanent solution to treat and cover the frame of my TuRD. Bought it new off the lot last Sept 2018 and its showing some rust spots. Enough that I want to treat them. Truck is in the "deep south" so there is a lot of moisture, but not much in the way of road salts. What have you guys done? I'm thinking of hitting rust spots with por then maybe hitting every thing with Eastwood encapsulator premium and covering with a Eastwood chassis black 2 part epoxy. Then using Fluid film or lps3 on the inside of the frame. What does the group think?

Surprising that this is happening that far South. Fluid Film is good for the inside of the frame and crossmembers, but it doesn't hold up to water spray and washes off the exterior surfaces.

I've had good results there with Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector spray, but it has to be reapplied each year in the areas that get a lot of splashing.

Ideally, POR-15 for the exterior surfaces after good preparation is the right approach. I've done this on my skidplates and front crossmember (under the radiator) and they still look new.

The $5.00 rustoleum satin black works just as well. The oil that you spray matters more than any paint ever will. I killed a lot of time trying these stupid paints. If it can be removed for a wire wheel then road debris and salt will make quick work of it. Oil it up, regardless of what you use, spray some silicone spray on all your rubber bushings. These anti rust oils can eat them.

Anyone use the LPS3? They say safe for paint and rubber. I just want to get after it, it's all surface rust on unprotected spots except the welds on the front end are rusting up. Not sure why welds would rust up in under a year... I'm guessing the parts sat around before they built the truck? Who knows. So humid down here, I think I'm going to rust.

Rust at the welds is a common problem, seen it on my '02 Chevy truck, '03 Tundra, etc. POR15 paint after good prep with their Metal Ready surface chemical and cleaning is money in the bank for protecting the weld joints.

I almost avoid amsoil due to the fact it's a PITA to find. Most reviews are made by someone selling it.

My local hardware store keeps a shelf of Amsoil stuff at reasonable prices, otherwise I'd never have tried it.

Cosmoline for Sale - Cosmoline Direct Rust Preventives, Sprays & More
RP-342 Spray Can. I used 3 full cans. You want to wear a facemask filter, safety glasses or goggles and rubber gloves. Also cover the driveway or garage floor with plastic and back over on top of it to keep the wind from blowing it around. Use in well ventilated area! The red straws don't stay in the nozzle head very well. I lost all mine inside my frame. Spray inside the frame holes every direction possible. Then coat the outside of the frame. If you have KDSS make sure to spray the hydraulic manifold block under the drivers door. Seals everything in a wax coating. The stink will lessen after about a week. Don't spray your exhaust pipes because that really stinks! But it will burn off if you do. I drove up on 4 ramps so I could move around under the vehicle. No lift yet.
