200k Timing questions.

I bought this 4WD 4runner at 169k currently at 206k and have had no issues. I'm the second owner and it was well taken care of and maintained via toyota dealer prior to me getting it. The timing was replaced at 100k, at my current milage I know ill be needing to do it soon but I have no signs or symptoms of it failing. Should I hold off or spend the cash now? I would be taking it in since Iv never done that extent of work before and was quoted $1150 for the timing, water pump, all the seals etc. Input and suggestions appreciated, its my 3rd one (sold 1, wrecked 1) and im hoping to keep it as long as possible.

I'm assuming you have a model year with a belt?

If so I'd change it already if you are over 100k since its last change.

If you have a 3rd Gen then it's due at 90k miles but people have gone 150k miles on the original timing belt. If you have 4th Gen v6 ,you have a chain drive except for the v8 which are belt driven. The 3.4l is non interference motor. If the belt breaks the engine is not going to get destroyed.
