Road salt rust

Recently acquired a 2015 with a level of road salt rust.

2 Qs.

1, how serious is this level?
2, should I spend time wire wheeling or blasting this off and painting, coating, etc?

1. Not serious at all.
2. I don't see any scaling, therefore no need for wire wheel. Hit it with rust converter following by frame paint and it'll be good.

Getting rid of the rust is always a good thing.

That is how my rig looks like. I've been told it is completely solid.

EDIT: I'm curious to see how your radiator support it. They are usually first to completely rust out.

Front crossmember does rust trough first since it is made of thinner metal. It serves as tow hook anchor and front frame brace but it does Not Support Radiator in any way.

Right, I don't know why its called that, but it is commonly referred to that. Anyway, mine is starting to crust. I want to say it can still be bought at the dealer.

Mine looks far worse and I did what most others are saying. Rust converter and then frame paint

Plan to spray the rust spots on the axle housing with OSPHO 605. Rust was from running up and down gulf beaches. Sea salt. One question, do you have to spray paint over the OSPHO or can you just treat and leave it as is?
