You're not allowed to work on your car in Sacramento CA!
This is crazy! It's now a violation of a certain zoning code to do any "major" work on our 4runners. Violation carries a $430 fine. And a $700 fee to request a hearing to argue your case.
"Minor" repairs are brake r&r, change engine oil and filter, repair of flat tires, minor tune-ups, lubrication and “other similar operations” are listed as “Minor automotive repair,” meaning homeowners are permitted to perform these activities, as long as the car is registered to a resident of the house.
And the registered truck that is registered to the residence address need to be operational within 24 hrs, using tools "normally" found in a normal residence.
Authorities are even doing aerial reconnaissance in Riverside county to cite non operational cars in residence yards.
Sorry for the rant but, this is crazy! It's only a matter of time when these people come knocking on our door to ruin our love of maintaining our 4runners.
You would think that the DoJ and Police would focus on things that would help them being liked by the local populace again; Instead of being the casual Road Pirates that they are.
Vote the county board bums off the board. We lived in a hoa sub division that enforced all kinds of these laws until some home owners got involved. and motivated others to vote out the hoa board and put in place common sense folk who changed the hoa laws back to normal.
