Look under Air Conditioner and Heater | Evaporator and heater components and then there are two options, one called Air Filter and one called Element. The Air Filter looks like it's the tray and element and the element is, well, just the element. Cost for both is the same $15.20.

Hey guys, I'm wanting to try and replace my cabin air filter with a filtrate/3M one and you guys mentioned using the toyo one as a stensile to cut the same size piece off of the filtrate - what about the edges of the filter that is basically missing a cardboard edge? I was just wondering if not have a firm edge was detrimental in that the air flow could blow stuff past the filter at those edges that are "flimsier".

All this to say, I will probably figure it out once I take the OEM cabin filter out.

Thanks!!

Where is the cabin air filter for a 2002 4runner?

Actually the first question should really be.. is there a cabin filter in a 2002 4runner? I cant find any info on the web? Did they start using cabin filters for 2003+ 4runners? Any help would be great!

Thanks,

What may help is to put in a little of the sponge rubber weatherstripping on the edges, where the plastic tabs are. Stops you from having to bend the cardboard and fight with the filter material.

Attaching a picture. I added the weatherstripping on three sides and on the bottom side you can see how the filter material simply overlaps some of the weather stripping. The material I used (filter and weatherstripping) was just stuff I had around the house.

I sure am glad I found this thread. I had my 2006 T4R Sport at the dealer yesterday for an oil change. They suggested that I change my cabin air filter too while I was in. I asked how much that would be and the response was "$60.00 !!! I told them no thanks.

What a rip off !! This is literally a 3 minute job. Even if the only tool you ever touched in your entire life was a screwdriver, you could still change this filter in under 5 minutes.

Is this the correct one? 2006 TOYOTA 4runner Product Categories - BestPriceCarParts.com

Need to take a look at mine (new-to-me '06 V8 with 54k on the clock. The PO took really good care of it so I suspect it has been changed regularly but it's a cheap so why not check, right?

..so i was reading all about cabin air filters and decided to check mine, initial inspection of the glove compartment was kinda dirty so i thought my filter was dirty too, so i removed the glove compartment (which - unlike what i read here - on a '97 4runner, requires me to remove two screws at the bottom of the glove compartment) and got this! do i even have a cabin air filter?

Hey All, long term member here.

Just caught this thread on cabin air filters. I manufacture cabin filters for 2003-2009 4runners.

1. Particle filter price $9.95

2. Charcoal "carbon" premium filter price $17.95

For a limited time I am offering FREE domestic shipping. These filters meet or exceed OEM specs. The carbon filter is well worth the added price is it traps many more contaminants than generic particle filters.

Please excuse my unprofessional images.

To order or with question, please email me

You just place the old filter on top of the household one, trace it with a marker, and cut with scissors. Works great everytime. I also get the really good Filtrete filters, so they filter even more crap out of the air (I have bad allergies). I also use this to make cabin filters for my wifes 2003 Honda Accord.

Trust me, it couldnt be easier!
