Squeaking LCA

Anyone that can help me out, I recently went to a frame shop to figure out the "Popping" underneath my 4Runner when I back up or pull forward with the steering cut to the left hard or right hard. It has an Icon Stage 3 lift on it and it didn't start doing it until recently.

Was told it had something to do with the plastic collar on the steering rod, but that isn't my concern as I've recently took it into a frame shop to see if they could pinpoint the problem.

They said they tightened to LCA on the right side due to it being loose, but now after a week it started making a god awful and very noticable squeak. Could over tightening that LCA be the issue, or could it be old bushings?

Further, I'd like to get all new bushings for my 4Runner and just get them all changed out in one go; Is Rubber the way to go or Poly?

What year is your 4runner? The lca bushings should be torqued on the ground with the weight of the truck on them. If they tightened them on a lift with wheel hanging down then there is binding stress which can cause a squeak.
Also the oem lca bushings will squeak if they are worn and poly need silicone lube or they squeak.. Poly bushings are cheaper, functional but have a harsher or more feedback ride. Oem rubber is expensive but imore comfortable ride.

My 4Runner is a 2019, 45,000 Miles of smiles!

Is there anything I can spray on it to defeat the squeaking for the time being?

Silicone spray is safe on rubber. But you should take it back ask them to torque the lca bolts on the ground.

Did the clicking noise with wheel turned go away? That's the main symptom of a failing outer cv joint. Energy suspension sales complete bushing kits for all 4runner years except mine 2010 ugh

No, it didn't go away, I was told that it has something to do with the Steering Column, something about a shroud or tubing over it that is plastic while the rest is metal; I've taken it to one of the best Frame Mechanics in my area and they said they couldn't get the sound to replicate, though he thinks that because of it being moist outside, that the squeaking could go away because of that, but its definitely back.

I gotta get an alignment because why wheels have the death shake at 50 - 55mph and Sam's Club balancing still hasn't fixed it.

Not really in the state of being able to do a crazy amount of repairs as I have a home to buy and of course starting a new job... But a failing CV Joint sounds about right. Last thing I need is that breaking while driving. ><

The steering shakes at 60 and I bet under hard acceleration. That's another symptom of a failing cv axle. Mine did the same steering shakes. Replaced them and it solved that BS.

You're saying clicking and squeaking. Which one? An alignment won't due any good with a suspension issue because you need to fix the problem first to be aligned right. They won't tell you this obviously want you to come back as many times as possible. I just replaced mine with A1 Cardones 120 a set. I caught my oems before they got bad. So they are My emergency trail paIr. The A1 Cardones Are good quality. The boots are the same material as the OEM And clamped on the same way. Smooth as a cloud. You can buy ten sets for the price of one OEM set. Not a hard job really.

Got it back after three days in a 4x4 Performance Shop. The squeaks are gone, they greased the UCA/LCA Bushings as they said they looked perfect when removed.

As for the Phantom Popping? The adjusted the Struts to spec, however they couldn't get it to 'Pop' when the Skid Plates were off, but when they were reinstalled, it made the popping sound. Something about the vehicle flexing just enough that it can create that sound.

The wobbling at 50 - 55 was fixed with "Bead Balancing." Never heard of it before, but they removed the old wheel-weights and as a result, I'm satisfied, the wobbling comes back a little bit at first, but it smooths out within 100 feet.

Maybe the Phantom Popping will go away when I redo the Suspension... Or trade it in on an actual 6th Gen... Or maybe its actually a tie-rod failing and everyone else is dumb-dumb-bubble-gum...

Who knows.
