Ceramic coating or existing ceramic spray

Hi all,

I have a Sherpa roof rack en route for my 2023. I've been using Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray on all my vehicles for a couple years and have been very happy with it. I've never used or experienced a true ceramic coating and I want to treat my roof before I install the rack. In your experience, should I apply a real ceramic coating to the roof or just add another coat of the ceramic spray? Is the ceramic coating that much better? If I go full ceramic coating, what's the best way to strip the existing ceramic spray prior to ceramic coat application?

If I do strip the spray and apply a full ceramic coating, I may as well strip the entire vehicle and coat it all. Thanks for the help!

I do a lot of detailing and the spray ones like you are using are good for drying aids when you wash and especially good for door jambs as well. They lack the durability of a true ceramic. What you should look into is the Adam's Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating Advanced. You're going to get a good year or two out of it and it's far easier to apply than a glass bottled ceramic, plus you get enough to do about 10 cars. It has a long shelf life, just pull the sprayer and clean between uses. The glass bottle ceramics also immediately start to crystalize once opened and your towels are trash, you can use it for a bit but not very long.

Give the rig a good decon wash with Dawn dish soap, hit it with a clay mitt or towel and give it a light polish. IPA wipe and then this stuff just glides on. I did my wifes car last year with the non "advanced" spray coating and it's still hard as a rock.

Another option would be Geyon Can Coat, same principle just a little different product. If I wasn't already stocked in Adam's products I would maybe pick the can coat, but they are both super good options.
