V6 Oil Change Question

Hey team,

When removing my oil filter from my 4th Gen V6, some always spills out and drips out of the little nipple underneath on the ground. Is there supposed to be a hose there that routes it toward where the oil drain pan plug is located?

If not, I may make one, but I thought Id ask if there is one from Toyota, or if new "mod" needs to be made.

Thanks,

I just wedge a paper cup under the little hole. Or cut a beer can open and use that. Not much comes out of the filter so a cup/can is adequate

You might consider rigging up a makeshift funnel or a small hose to channel the oil in the right direction. Just ensure it doesn't interfere with any moving parts.

What I found worked best was to use an empty one-quart oil container. I found I could wedge one under the nipple and the radiator hose below would push it up against the filter assembly so you won't have to hold it.
