Brake pad thickness

Just went to the dealer to have my 15k service. The invoice states that my front and rear brake pads have 8mm left. My question is what is the thickness for the brand new pad? Thanks!

Not quite sure off the top of my head how thick they are new, but no need to replace them until you get to about 2-3mm, so you have plenty more.

The front and rear pads do not wear down at the same rate since the fronts do a majority of the work. So the dealer may be wrong.

From the FSM: standard/new thickness is 11.5 mm
Minimum thickness is 1 mm

However, at 1 mm you are transferring a lot of heat to the rotor. I would change them once they get around 3 mm.
