My carpet was a wreck and I called the dealer for a kit and they told me $700.00 so I just pulled mine out and pressure washed it....I regret not taking pics but here is a summary of the labor involved....WARNING!!!!GIVE YOURSELF 1 DAY IN THE SUN TO DRY THE CARPET.YOU MAY HAVE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK WITH NO CARPET AND JUST THE DRIVER SEAT INSTALLED FOR A DAY.
1. Remove the plastic bolt covers from the front seats (4). Then unbolt the front seats (4-14 mm bolts). Disconnect seatbelt light plug before taking out..(4-5 minutes max)
2. Flip back seats forward and remove the 2 plastic covers per seat. Then unbolt the (2-12 mm bolts) per seat and remove just the lower part of the seat. (2-3 min)
3. Remove the door sill trim by unscrewing the phillips head screws and quickly popping the sill out. They are held in by clips that pop out. Then remove the seatbelt panels by just pullling them off (very easy) (5 min)
4. Remove the kick panels on the left and right side of the car by the floorboard where your feet rest..They pop off easy as well. (1 min)
5. Unscrew the (2-10 mm) bolts in the center console and a few phillips screws along the side of the center console all the way to the shifter...They all come out. I believe 3 per side.
6. Remove the 2 panels on each side of the radio by sliding them towards the back seats. They will come out with some finess after removing the little clips they have. (push the center of the clip in with a small pick of screw driver then they fall out. When re-installing them pull the center out, put it in the hole, then push the center back flush with the clip. You will see what I am talking about when you do it.
7. As you are gently lifting the center console disconnect the plugs going to the ECT, Factory alarm, Rear window, & any other switches your model may have. (BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO BREAK THE ALARM WIRES!!!!!) They are very sensitve and require a pick to disconnect the 2 wires that may have plugs on each.
7. After all that is done you should have an exposed carpet kit...There are some pieces of the carpet that clip on metal brackets by the floorboard of the driver side..Make sure you do not rip the carpet by forgetting those areas.
Then remove the carpet clips along the door openings by popping them out. (very easy). MAKE SURE TO REMEMBER HOW THE WIRING HARNESS GOES THROUGH THE CARPET TO MAKE IT EASY ON YOURSELF FOR THE RE-INSTALL!!
8. Slowly pull the carpet out by folding the corners towards the middle of the car. There may be some difference in each car so take it slow so you do not damage any wires or the carpet..
9. After the carpet is out, lay it on the driveway and apply a lot of degreaser. Simple green works good. Let it sit for 5 min and scrub the bad stains by hand w/ a brush.
I RECCOMMEND A PRESSURE WASHER BUT A HOSE AND BRUSH WILL WORK, ALTHOUGH NOT AS GOOD. If you are going to pressure wash it, don't be afraid to get close..The carpet is very tough...Make sure to get as much of the soap off as possible...
10. Hang it on the hood of the car to dry and repeat the cleaning process again if you see more spots....I let mine dry for a day and drove the truck with just the driver seat installed with all 4 bolts. That may be your only option if you need your truck..
After it is dry install it. put all the trim back on and be genter installing the center console and all the plugs!!! I may have left something out, so if anyone has anything to add feel free...
THIS IS A 2 HOUR REMOVAL AND CLEAN JOB, BUT THE CARPET DRY IS THE LONG PART!!! THIS TAKES A DAY AND A NIGHT...MAKE SURE YOU PLAN FOR THIS....LIKE I SAID I DROVE MINE W/ NO CARPET FOR A DAY.....PM ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS..
