Where is limited-slip differential oil located?

Hey Guys,

I have an 05 SR5 4x4 v6 that is due for a 30k service. I mainly use it for towing. So I changed all front, rear diff and xfer case fluids myself. I'm looking at the maintenance service schedule, it says:

"Replace limited-slip differential oil, if equipped" or
"Replace rear differential oil, including limited-slip" when "Driving While Towing".

My question is where is limited-slip differential oil located?

Thanks guys and this forum is great!!!

In the rear differential... BUT you do not have a 'limited slip differential' in the traditional, clutch pack sense so you don't need the additive. US spec T4R's have ATRAC and an open differential.

It is confusing on some things. Add to that the fact the schedule is a 'world' schedule covering many spec/configurations; our sales literature tells us we have limited-slip (referring to ATRAC or Auto-LSD) and it's very confusing.

Glad it makes sense now.

According to the attached TSB your diff should be labeled; to be honest I haven't looked at mine to see if it has any label.
