tips for waxing roof

He y'all just wondering if anyone has some great tips for waxing the roof of your 4Runner. I've waxed it at least once a year since i bought it but I always push if off longer than i should because i find it to be a bit of a pain. Any one have tips to make it easier than standing in the tire and holding onto the roof rack?

I stand on either a turned over 5 gal pail, or open up the doors and stand on the edge of the floor. (I also stand on the tire and hold onto the roof rack.)

The running boards and rear bumper. Or a small step ladder.

Hee hee. Did you learn that the hard way?

I am all of 5'6" tall so I have to stand on the rear tire and hold onto the roof rack to the back halfo of the truck, but can get the rest of the roof standing on the sills with the door open.

There is no easy way to get the roof any vehicle done well - except for a pick-up where you can stand in the bed and get a good portion of the roof.

I hear ya!! I'm the same height and have been "clinging" onto the roof rack and my feet on the rear tires to get up there!! (doesn't it suck when your feet slip and you come crashing down?? ouch!).......but I don't let that stop me from waxing up there.

So yeah, no easy way of getting up there. I actually find that have a step stool is worse because even if you sit it RIGHT NEXT to the vehicle, you still have to lean toward the truck to get full reach.......I've had too many stools slip on me to do that again.

I used to stand on the running boards and rear bumper, but with the running boards gone I now just stand on a regular plastic chair that I place carefully next to the 4Runner. It works fine for me, but just gotta make sure I don't lean too much to one side. lol

^^That's what I do as well ^^ There are also Step-Up Benches (I think that's what they are called) that painter's and electricians use. They are 1-2steps and 2'-5' in length, so you can walk back and forth on them...
