Also broke small fitting in the back

Old thread but also broke the little plastic fitting in the back of the air box.
Did a very weak repair with crazy glue to keep in place and reinforced later with epoxy.
How important is that fitting/hose?
Any suggestions for a more reliable repair?
Thanks

This is just an orientation photo showing the box loose but not completely removed.

And one after the box is completely removed.
Thanks so much for posting! Bought an 06 last summer with 230k. I drive a lot and needed something with 4wd. Cleaned my throttle body today and it was nasty. Took me 30 minutes to clean it off. Very easy to do thanks to your post.

Thanks for your post. I followed what you did but replaced the throttle gasket as well part #22271-0P010 ($12). My 2007 is at 156k and probably never had the TB cleaned in my records.
The new gasket was visibly wider than the old one, so maybe some wear, maybe just compression, but I did that. Can't say that it runs different but it shifts better in a cruise doing some pickups.
