so this summer im thinking of matte black vinyl wrapping 03 SR5 my self for fun. i did a lot of research on matte black, some cost around 3 to 5k for professional job with different coat and uv layer stuff like that and they are not even around the bay area.
i seem this person did it himself for his BMW M3 cost around 150 for supplies. I am in love with Matte Black cars i want it black murder out!
Seriously, this is really tough to do. A friend got his company car wrapped, and brought it to a place to have it done. The company let us watch them put it on for a bit, and even the professionals who do it for a living screw up and have to reprint and redo. Bottom line, it may look easy, but its really tough to do.
New here, but I have been thinking about matte black for a while. I need a new paint job, so I am getting a full one stage matte black job next week. I'll post pics when it is done.
I just had to replace a door and fender on my 2nd Gen and decided to test out a rolled on paint job using Rustoleum satin black. I like the looks of it. I say, use satin black instead of matte black. Gives it a silkier look.

Id say take it to a paint shop and have them do it... the vinyl is a pain in the ass and if you mess up then what ? waste more money to try again or have it done right the first time? .. SEM makes a hot rod black its about $80 a kit and for the truck youd probably need 3-4 but its a satin black not matte it has uv protectant and holds up well
