If you're paying someone to do it, a boot job is less expensive than buying the complete axles. Actually, the labor for a boot job will be more than the labor to swap a set of new axles, but the cost of those complete axles is way more than new boots/clamps/grease. When I used to work as a Toyota tech, we always did boot jobs if the CV joints were still in good shape. It helped save our customers money...
That said, if the CV joints are good, don't waste your money...just have them replace the boots.
