Did you know the 3rd Gen V6 oil filter fits the 4th Gen V6?

Well, I bought the 2004 in Nov. of 2008 and I kept buying separate oil filters for it and I finally figured out the 3.4 V6 asnd the 4.0 V6 uses the same oil filter. Duh, I feel a little dumb.
I went to Pep Boys and used a $10 off coupon and bought some Pure One filters, I decided to get some for the 2004 and the 2001 and wouldn't you know it, the number is the same for both. Now that I think back, when I bought Toyota filters for the 2001 around 2004, they changed slightly, using a different size wrench to put them on. What must of happened is that the filter was changed for the 4th generation.
Now that I finally figured it out, I can use the same filter for both 4Runners and my old 91 Previa, which is a bit easier to remember.
