Just replaced mine again not too long ago. I specifically went looking for a charcoal activated version of the MicronAir but it doesn't exist yet.

Well, today I received the Bosch air filter in the mail from autobarn.com and installed it in about two minutes. It was so easy to install and is very nice and white (clean).

The stock filter wasn't nearly as dirty as I expected, but it still feels good knowing I have a clean one in there now, and the Bosch filter just feels thicker/sturdier.

I definitely recommend this cheap and easy "mod" for when you have to change your air filter (or even before if you want to get better filtering now).

I would also like to reaffirm that this filter IS the same one mentioned:
Bosch Part # F00E160176

And can be bought online here:

I just bought a Denso cabin filter and it was pink. My old filter was a year old and 15k miles. It had some small leaves and dirt and was dark grey.

Cabin Air Filter

I consider myself anal for keeping my car cleaned and detailed. After reading the comments on the cabin air filter, I thought to myself, gee..self....have you ever changed this? I answered to myself, no you haven't. How many miles do I have- 74,000!!

I thought the dealership would have mentioned it, but I don't recall they ever did.

So after reading and seeing the pictures posted I decided I should go down to the garage and see for myself!

Well after removing the filter (easy job and listed in the owners manual) I was shocked to see what mine looked like. I found about 8 june bugs, flies, dirt, grime and a dead body (ok, I'm joking about the body)

I would post a picture but thought it would be best I didn't because you guys would ban me for being an idiot! I just wanted to thank you for the posts, because if not for all of you, I would be an even bigger idiot.
