Having those pieces missing isn't going to hurt anything. If it's the one I think you're talking about I think I pulled mine out when I took the bottom (plastic) half of the bumper off.

I'd go for it. I like my 3rd gen well enough for what it is, but the V8 alone would be worth the swap. This motor is so gutless lol.

That's probably true. A disclaimer is also that my 4runner is not my only vehicle and I live 3 miles or so from work, so I am not lutting a ton of miles on anything. I'd be more likely to opt for OEM stuff if I needed it to last 200k miles.

I have Advance outers and Oreilly's inners on the passenger side due to the tie rod basically coming apart during an alignment. I planned to replace at least the outers with OEM, but I have honestly had no issues at all. I will probably do another set of cheaper inners and possibly OEM outers on...

I wouldn't even call that rust, but I'm from NY. Out here people freak out over a tiny amount of surface rust. I don't think I would pay more than $5K or so, though. Has the timing belt been done?

I pieced mine together with springs and shocks from Wheelers instead of buying a "kit". I have 285s and needed wheel adapters to run them. They rubbed horribly. I think I have less than $1K in my lift and the ride is great for what it is.
