I've read (and the dealership told me as well) that a slim jim won't work. But, the good news is...I just successfully got mine open and removed the door panel in about 10 minutes with a flat head and phillips head screw driver. If a 30 yr old woman can do it--you can too!

I am curious if you have been able to get the door open yet. I am having the same problem with my '03 on the front passenger door. Dealership said the actuator probably went bad but they don't know how to remove the door panel with the door stuck shut.
