I have found it tends to drop less if you do not try to keep it to the max setting all the time. Dont know why but it works for me. Seems like once it drops slightly it stays at that level longer. Mine is a 2014 no parts were ever changed except the antifreeze.

How would you keep them down? The door has to be open for them to go down.

Do you have the past maintenance records? Most likely the oil was not changed often enough.

The "car care nut" says do not replace the belt unless it is cracked or fraying regardless of age. Definitely do not replace it with a non oem belt. I am at 83k miles on my 11 year old 2014 and the original belt looks like brand new.

The video craeg_the_kraken sent from the car care nut at 3:27 into it is what I suspect the problem is.

Was it an OEM rack and pinion or aftermarket?

I have a 2014 and a 2024 limited. No popping on either. I only weight 135 lbs if that make any difference.
