    transmission cooler

Actually Thermodynamics deal with the TRANSFER of energy from one place/state to another. Hence, the transfer of heat (internal energy) from one system to another system. I'll bet a flowing liquid @ -50F will cool that same beer in a fraction of the time it takes you to cool it with moving...

    transmission cooler

Yes I am an engineer/scientists.... I've seen this test done and I've done it myself. Its also a WELL known fact by Chef's in the kitchen.... I've also seen it done with a block of solid ice.... Same outcome!

    $2400 rebate or 0% finance on '05

Or you can be smarter and take $30K and invest the money over 5 years. Finance the vehicle using their money and pay 3.9%. Make 8% on a conservative investment over 5 years and actually MAKE money on your 30K..... Whos the smarter guy? The one who pays off his mortgage early or the one who...

Do you get tired driving more than an hour?

The constant PAIN from the uncomfortable seats in this 4Runner keep me awake with no problem.... Only thing I hate in my 05 Runner.... THE SEATS SUCK and are too close to the floor. Feel like I'm in a Chevy Z28. Sounds like you need more sleep! I get 8-9 hours every night. So driving is not...

    transmission cooler

Just to add my .02.... The engineers understand properties and Laws of Thermodynamics better than the people in this forum. The REASON you move HOT trans fluid to the radiator cooler FIRST is very easy and basic. Laws of Thermodynamics. Would you try and thaw a frozen steak with air or...

    05 V8 - Oil and Trans Coolers????

I have the 05 V8. Does it come standard with an engine oil cooler and a transmission oil cooler? Also, has anyone made any mods for this yet? CAI? Performance Exhaust (not loud)? Chip (probably wont need it)?

    Advice needed ASAP: V8 vs V6 4Runner

The V8's were VERY scarce when I bought mine. Only about 5 in the entire metro area. I happened to get lucky and get hte color and model I wanted close by. I did not drive the V6. However, due to the gas crunch the V6's are selling better. I needed the power of the V8 becuase its always...

    Magnaflow 05 V8 Video/soundclips

I would think you did not change the back pressure that much. Plus the computer is "Intelligent" and can/should adjust timing and air/fuel ratios accordingly. I just can not seem to justify throwing away a perfectly good cat-back for a new one. Unless I *knew* I where unleashing about 20+...

    05 V8 - 22mpg!!!

To put things into perspective for the wacko's: My 2003 Ford EXPEDITION (aka Explanation) wieghed in at 5700 lbs. It also had a 5.4 V8 versus our 4.7... I got 19 MPG on the highway wieghing 1200 lbs MORE that the Runner AND a larger Engine... Explain that! Only a 2 MPG difference with 1200...

    05 V8 - 22mpg!!!

Wow... Lots of feedback.... Let me elaborate a bit more. I drove VERY easy. I had my 5 yo son and pregnant wife in the Runner. People weight = 195 + 150 (preg wife) + 40 = 385 Rear cargo area had about 250 lb of stuff. The cargo carrier wieghs about 80 lbs + about 100 lbs on it = 180 lbs...

    05 V8 - 22mpg!!!

Just got back from my first trip in my 05 V8 Sport: 1. Heavy load - 3 people, back full of luggage, cargo carrier in hitch with cargo. 2. AC on 3. 65-70 MPH 4. 95% highway 5. 93 Octane 21.8 MPG.... Checked out again coming home except I got 20 MPG running HARD (70-80 MPH + WOT passes)...

    Most Wanted SUV Under $35,000

What's wierd to me is that one of the magazine shows (Motorweek, etc..) had a "Comparo" of Mid SUV's. Compared 6 SUV's and the 4Runner came in 5th. Never said ANYTHING about its V8 power. Cherokee (hemi) came in first with the WORST ground clearance, but they loved the power. 0-60 in 6.8 for...

    4.7L VVT-i sluggish

I have not used m7 05 V8 yet in the heat. However, 2 things you need to consider: 1. Hot Air = less HP, the hotter the less responsive 2. Some people are MORE sensitive to changes in HP due to climate change than others.... Just so happens I ran 87 octane in my 05 for the first 25 tanks or...

    Beach Driving!

Ya know, I was up there once a LONG time ago with my 98 Ford Expedition. She did just fine. But it is VERY DEEP and LOOSE sand! Could not find it again after that.... Dont think the 05 4Runner could make it IMHO. I think I got a better power to weight ratio, tires are ok (par), clearance is...
