My nittos have been awesome in the snow. Took my TRD pro to winter park, copper, and leadville this weekend and it did awesome. Did part of argentine pass until it got 4-5 feet deep 3 weeks ago. No issues, very surprising, and I'm not in a rush to put new BFG's on anymore like if I got a 4Runner...

I got a pair of those running boards on mine that I am about to take off, PM me if you are in the Denver area.

Mine is way too close, no matter what the clamps drag on the roof when sliding onto the rails. Yakimas catalog lists the 16s as not compatible with 4Runner stock rails.

Yeah and how scratched up is the roof on your car near the area the clamps are? And when those bars flex in the wind, will 3/8" be enough room?
