Rear hatch gas strut upgrades for gobi ladder weight?

I was told to use Liftsupport PM3430-W for upgrade weight rear hatch struts. Will be installing the Gobi ladder as well which I why I upgraded the struts. Ladder is still a few months out on backorder. Struts are an easy install and fit great. Highly recommend. 2008 4Runner Limited with...

Opinions sought -- TYC headlights & Lumen LEDs

From what I've heard the TYC brand is an OEM brand. Maybe not original for Toyota but they are high quality aftermarket from a reputable company.

    General Grabber ATX review

I usually run 40psi year round and it's not too harsh. The LT are heavy tires so trying to max the fuel econ!

Opinions sought -- TYC headlights & Lumen LEDs

Just installed new TYC headlight assemblies on my 08 4Runner Limited. Excellent quality and fitment is perfect. Didn't even have to adjust the headlight aim. I chose CougerMotor LED low beam and high beam bulbs. Love this setup.

    General Grabber ATX review

I've run the General ATX LT tires on my 08 4Runner for about 30k miles now. Tread wear is great and many more miles to go. I did have vibration concerns and Discount Tire had issues trying to balance 4 times! I wonder if people with KO2's have balancing/vibration issues also? Otherwise these...

Safe Jack accessories with stock jack?

I'll have to dig up the old jack which is now put away in the garage somewhere...haha. But honestly I'm much happier with the heavy duty Omega jack. I'm sure the OEM works fine but if the truck is loaded down it's nice to know I have a jack that more than capable. Or if needed for someone...

Safe Jack accessories with stock jack?

I found my stock 2008 4Runner bottle jack would not work with the Safe Jack accessories. Ended up buying a new 10065B Omega bottle jack. A lot more heavy duty and able to fit the jack with accessories in the same cubbie area.

    "Rumble Strip" Transmission issue

I believe that I may have the shudder beginning to occur. Had the fluid drained and refilled 2 times 20k miles ago when first bought. Going to try and drain/refill again. Is there a difference between the Lubegard Platinum vs the Lubegard Shudder Fixx? From what I gather the Platinum has...

    RTT on Stock cross bars

The main concern is that the stock cross bars are not as sturdy as the aftermarket Yakima or like styles. Also after 10 years + they become even more prone to failure. I use Yakima cross bars for my root tent and have had no issues. FYI - Yakima recently came out with the "RailBar XL" which...

5100 Questions (I know, some idiot making another 5100 thread)

Hello. 2008 V8 here with 100k miles. I just installed the 5100's with the stock springs. With the fronts set to 1.75" the front end was just barely higher than the rear. For camping and cargo purposes I chose to install a rear 1.5" spacer for a boost. Here is the truck before the rear...

need more aggressive brake pads.. any suggestions?

I would NOT recommend TRD pads. I installed them front and rear which caused the front rotors to warped (under normal use). Also lots of brake dust and didn't last long. Back to stock pads for me. Would be curious to hear others recommendations though...

    Bilstein 5100 1.75 Setting

Posted this update in another section but here's my update... Just wanted to post an update after installing 5100's front and rear shocks with stock springs. 2008 V8 4x4 here with 110k miles. 5100's set to 1.75" in front. Completely removed the x-reas system and lines (what a mess!)...

Bilstein 5100 w/ Stock Springs vs. Toytec/OME Full Lift Kit

Just wanted to post an update after installing 5100's front and rear shocks with stock springs. 2008 V8 4x4 here with 110k miles. 5100's set to 1.75" in front. Completely removed the x-reas system and lines (what a mess!). Measurements from ground to fender (at center of wheel) Before: LF...

Bilstein 5100 w/ Stock Springs vs. Toytec/OME Full Lift Kit

My thoughts are the 1.75" front setting on a V6 will result in the front end being higher than the rear. The V8 is a gamble, with a heavier engine it *should* level out. I'm a V8 and really don't want the front end being higher up. Anyone else with 5100's and stock springs chime in with some...
