Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

I did use red thread lock when bolting up the spacers. I will check them and re-torque though. Would the lift cause a an old bearing to start vibrating more that it was before? My truck does have 170k on the odometer so not sure when those bearings start to go out.

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

I have a bit of an update on my situation. Thanks to the suggestions by drewm; & morphious; i have been able to remedy some of my issues. I ended up completely redoing the alignment myself. First off setting the lower eccentrics out nearly as far as they can be to give me more distance...

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

Thank you! Yes the axle seems pushed into the differential side where it adjusts laterally causing further limitation. I think it's because the LCA has been adjusted in

No they are defiantly at position D right now. You can see the flat side with the logo out in one of my pics. Wouldn't more positive caster push the wheel back if done with the upper ball joint on the UCA. If I put the LCA back at neutral. I may right now only have 2 degrees positive (back)...

morphious; drewm; Here are some better pics of the side view. It does look like the front suspension is slightly forward but I think the other picture was slightly deceiving. Tried to match your angle morphious. Do you think caster adjustment alone push it back enough?

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

I can't think of anything that would be installed wrong. My LBJ/steering lock knuckle thing looks right. Can anyone else think of something other than caster adjust that would cause it to be further forward?

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

drewm; Would the spacer effect both sides due to sway bar? Because the passenger side with no spacer binds at full droop too. The resting position right now causes vibration though

drewm; Do you have pictures of the CV axles from the front to compare angles and hub position to mine?

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

I bought them new at NAPA so they better haha...but even if they didn't they are still binding do to the severe angle when the suspension is dropped fully. If you look at the second pic i posted looking at the axle from the front you can see how severe the angle of the inner joint is...now...

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

I do have a .25" spacer on the divers side which I may end up having to remove...but I have the same problem of too much droop and CV binding on the passenger side as well which does not have a spacer.

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

morphious; I think you may have a good point there morphious. When I installed the SPC UCA i put it at +2 degree setting cause I thought that was the stock setting. Doing a bit more research I see that it should be closer to the 2.5 - 4 range. (again, the generic, non 4x4 alignment place did not...

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

preacher35; Did you install the lift yourself? I'm unsure of what possible errors in the installation (being that this was my first lift install) that could lead to having too much lift. Did you experience any vibrations? Could you post a pic from the front of your truck to compare CV angles? My...

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

I feel like its close. When I have it on jack stand and i put a hydraulic jack under one hub and lift it just a 1/2 inch or so the axles no longer bind. Are there any alignment tricks like putting the LCAs out as far as possible then using the adjustable UCA to even out the camber and caster...

Need Help! Getting too much lift from 885's on Bilstein 5100's

Yes I don't believe the tires are an issue at all. Did you have any issues with the CV axles binding? Mine make a terrible noise when I go over a dip that drops the suspension and shutters in faster turns. Along with the vibration when driving above 40. They bind when the truck is jacked up and...

They had the tags on them which said 885. Not sure how I would verify if that's what they actually are or not. Good ideas though keep them coming. Could someone with this setup measure the extended length when their truck is on the ground? acactually are.
