My former 12 Trail and current 17 Limited (both only 2 row seats) both had rattle from the rear seat back latches. This rattle seems to go away if I adjust the seat back recline to first position. Basically it adds extra tension on the mechanism and reduces the amount of loose travel a little bit.

Key fob is all you have. Touching the handle to lock/unlock is only on the Limited trim level for 5th generation.

They're somewhat uncommon in Michigan. Every time I see one I usually say, "Oh look, another 4Runner!"

Southeast Toyota Distributors offers a very similar mirror as option for the 4Runner. Part number is 00016-05463. It is electrochromic with Homelink and compass. If you search the part number in google the first couple of results are PDF installation instructions.

I might be misinterpreting your post, but I roll my window down by inserting my key into the liftgate lock cylinder, and hold it towards the unlock direction. After a couple seconds the window starts to roll down. Rolling up is reverse direction.
