this happened to me twice (!), before amazon & others offered the less expensive solutions. was forced to pay OEM cost & my insurance wouldn't cover it... after it happened the 2nd time I found something called a "Cat Clamp" and installed one of those. No more problems

Problem identified & solved! the flexboard trace was damaged. I probably grounded it on something while removing & re-inserting the LEDs in the bayonet plugs to ensure polarity while the cluster was *hot*. That's what I get for being lazy. repaired the damaged section with a Circuit Writer...
