This bears repeating. People mistakenly think they want a tire to eject the snow, and that's just not the case. Winter tires are designed to retain snow because that's what provides the best traction on snow.

Pretty much this. You need to air down for extra mechanical grip (when the tire deforms around an object, like a rock or log, and grabs it). Also... LT rated tires will give you more puncture resistance.

I totally agree with you. Yet, at the same time I do not agree that ranchers should be given free reign over public lands. Does BLM need to be reformed? Quite possibly, and certainly many people think so. Are these incidents indicative of the agency as a whole - probably not. But it's worth...
