use Acetone to clean the mating surfaces. you may want to wrap some tape around the plastic conduit that houses the wiring that runs on top of the outer edge of the VC it likes to crumble and fall in the head and then you will have to use tweezers to pull it all out, ask me how I know...LOL

Ok, so now that I have tackled the VC gaskets and half moons, plug seals etc job I am moving on to replacing the rad, rad hoses and installing a B&M cooler, milkshake preventative maintenance, you know the drill. I have a question, since I will be needing to remove the lines for the factory...

this truck is about 30 minutes away from me, I did notice it on CL the other day and thought it was weird that he dyed the seats black, super low mileage though. I can't see paying more than $10,000 for that truck.

maybe it's just me but power seats seem to have more increments of adjustment, manual seats seem to have only a few positions.

you could always do a visual inspection of the belts it's not that big a deal, this is a non-interference motor, mind you being stranded is never fun.

the tube seals are probably the easiest part of this job. the half moons are aluminum and re-useable, although I purchased them new anyhow.

I can't say for certain, but I highly doubt the trans would be plug and play due to JDM being RHD I would assume some of the linkage etc would be on the wrong side of the trans? I have experience installing a JDM trans into an MR2 and there was a small amount of custom work necessary to convert...
