That depends on the power your sub needs and how much power your head unit (stereo) supplies. In most cases you need an amp, in even more cases it is just best to have an amp because not only are you less likely to blow your sub, but your sound will be much cleaner too. So short answer- Yes...

Okay so I'm new with not much to say, but I can talk about what I have hauled thus far... 1- 32" flat screen TV in the box (back seats up) 2- Adult Rottweiler w/crate, dog not in crate- dog hated crate 3- Here we go, all at the same time: 3 bundles of firewood, 2- 50 qt coolers, 2- 4 cubic ft...
