I had the same problem on my 05 4runner limited with the oem spoiler, I pulled off the rubber tubing behind the rear door and found two splices or connections in the wires that were reversed and just swapped the two connections and it worked, the red connector was swapped with the black one

Does it work good with the factory jbl rds system? Trying to upgrade my factory stereo since the CD player is having problems
