There should be a check valve in the system to keep oil on the pressure side. Typically the oil filter has a check valve too. Maybe swap out the oil filter and see if it goes away. Otherwise take it back and let them know of the problem.
I forgot that everything ever posted on a forum is always true.
CR does something well but I never pay attention to there car tests or there reliablity charts of cars only a few years old. Like everything printed or posted now a days you always have to apply the commonsense filter.
I just got this month Consumer Reports and they happen to have a report on Batterie tests. The top two batteries in all sizes where the Walmart Everstart and the DieHard Platnium. Both were considered CR best buys in all sizes. The Everstart won most sizes but the Diehard took a few and was...
895E spring and rear shock are SOLD.
883 front springs left, really good springs as they are better than the FJ setup and match well to a set of FJ rear springs or the toyotec rear springs.
Decided that I'm going to stick with FJ coils and TRD shocks for my 4th gen so the following parts are for sale. Springs and shock all have less than 5K miles. All parts are in CT near Hartford
OME 883 Front springs (1.5" lift) $100 including shipping!
OME 895E Rear Springs (1" lift and match...
For the most part there are only a few battery manufactures in the world so pretty much everybody's battery is made by one of these companies to that vendors specs... Also true is that battery life is more time and temperature dependent than cycle dependent (normal driving cycle that is) but...
I know a mechanic (since he was a little kid riding a CR80 dirt bike) that works at Acton Toyota that would do a good job but you are looking at dealer flat rate price. If you decide to go to them let me know I can PM you his name and mine for a reference.
Where are you in Mass? I know of a few good shops depending on your location. Personally I'd fix it as the truck should go another 100k plus with out issue and it beats a car payment.
I'm not familure with the older models but there is a larger and smaller rotor. The sport package got the larger rotors and the SR5 got the smaller. I forget what the Limited come with. Maybe the box had a sport rotor in it and you have small rotor calipers.
Sounds like Wilwood has a nice caliper. No steel treaded into alum and using a soft material interface when threading is required. I'll keep that in mind if I have to replace the brembos on my wife's TL Type S at the next brake job.
I probably didn't articulate it very well in my post but I've just seen Alum caliper brackets fail at the threaded interface and bolts/brackets were coated to fight corrosion. If you have room to put a nut and bolt then great. Yes the easy to get 3 series SS are 1/2 the strenght of most...
I had to mull this over in my mind the last few days before responding as there are a few things that I think detract or at least don't exite me about Wilwood calipers as a replacement options as that is really what they are just a replacement option.
Mostly I'm not crazy about alum brackets...
Yes the compression ratios in turbo car are typically lower but you are stuffing 10-20psi of fuel/air in there and then compressing it so the final overall cylinder pressure is much much greater than a NA motor like the 4runner.
