CBI vs Shrockworks rear plate with tire carrier

Hands down Shrockworks...I wouldn't go with any other company. Yeah the wait times are a downer, but if you know that going in you will not be disappointed...their stuff is bulletproof!! And they worked with me to modify the tire carrier to accommodate my setup I added to my Gobi ladder. Plus...

    Jerry Can Trunk Mount?

Additional Tanks of Roof I should have added that I made a mount system to add two 2-gallon rotopax cans on the roof also. Fuel is my nemesis on my backwoods trips. I'm also adding another two 4-gallon tanks, still in progress. For the two 2-gallon tanks on the rook, I used the factory roof...

    Jerry Can Trunk Mount?

My Solution for Extra Gas I would avoid storing fuel inside the truck, even the best sealing tanks always seem to leak, or you inevitably spill some fuel when filling or emptying the can. That smell always seems to find a home in the vehicle. I never wanted a bumper system with a spare tire...

Light bar above the windshield question

Roof Mounted Lights are Great! So I guess I am a dork times four, since I have roof mount lights on all sides. They are great for adding light when needed at camp -- mine are wired "hot" so I don't even need the ignition to be powered on. I also added a battery tender to the engine bay, so I...

Desert Dune Limited "Japanese Rice Wagon"

Wisco...it's your ride, do with it as you please!!! Mud it, beat it, drive it off a cliff, or through the ocean. Just don't drink and drive or text and drive! :) That said, one recommendation I do have as for mods to do in the beginning. If you plan to add armor, or carry lots of cargo with...

Rear axle/suspension problem-axle shifts when going on/off the gas

My Experience Hi. I had a similar problem to what you are describing. Basically anything over 45mph, when I would decelerate or get on the gas the back end swayed like crazy...to the point of wondering if I was going to roll the truck. Ended up being my rear LCA bushings. Long story short...

Well it wasn't today, it was last weekend... ....but I picked up some new sleeping quarters! My New Home... Well Ducmonsta has been getting on me about not posting anymore, and he really gave me a hard time for not showing off my latest addition... I can't say enough good things about this...

Roof Top Tent (RTT) Picture Gallery & BS Thread

Not sure yet, haven't had a chance to hit any real trails yet; but getting it to the spot in my parent's backyard did require some "light" trail riding...didn't even notice it was back there!

Finally...a build, or rather built, thread

Thanks for the recent accolades. I need to update up build thread with pictures...have to take them first. Done a lot since my original build posting...ditched the ARB in the front and put on a ShrockWorks bumper, built a cargo box, installed an ARB fridge, upgraded to a Mean Green alternator...

Loud Gear Whine with new gears

ReconCmdr, I wanted to chime in with my regear experience. I too went from 4.10s to 4.88s, and noticed a different sound...best way to describe it was like having a set of aggressive mud terrain tires on the truck. I was worried something wasn't done right, and had several questions for the...

3rd-Gen: For Sale -- ARB Bumper, OME Coils and Shocks, & Hella Rallye 4000

Hi all, unloading some parts after upgrading my front end. I'm in the DC area, and prefer local pick-up/meet. Willing to ship all but bumper. On the bumper I can also meet anyone who lives off 95/85 between DC and Charlotte, and possibly DC to Boston. I'll be at High Tech Auto and Truck's...

Finally...a build, or rather built, thread

4.88s are great. Definitely a must. Before the upgrade it would get bogged down at highway speed on the slightest of grades and would always have to downshift to maintain speed. Now...smooth sailing, pretty much back at stock "power." About a 500RPM bump at highway cruising speed...at 80mph...
