I would definitely go SE. As stated before, on these trucks, that amount of mileage is not an issue. I just bought my '03 with 76k on it and it runs and looks like new. That V8 is a proven engine and should go well over 200k easily. Good luck...truly nice ones are hard to find...

I agree... That was the same with me when I was in High School, all I "ended up with" was a '74 Mercedes 240D, but it WAS a manual. Slow as hell, though, which for my parents was a good thing. As for advice, I would get him a sweet '03 (or '05 - though that's a bit more than you want to spend)...

I agree, but where I live it's much more advisable to use tranny braking when going down long stretches of mountain highway. The adaptive tranny does help, but manually shifting into a lower gear feels like it gives me much more control going downhill. IMHO...

I just bought an '03 Limited with 76k miles. From a dealer. it's a 9 1/2 out of 10. the only thing that needs replacing are the tires, BFG's. BIG improvement over the 3rd Gen. '02 I has before this...

Parts for 75k maintainence i"d go to the Parts Dept. of a stealership and buy the parts there. Most of the work you should be able to do yourself, btw. Good Luck!
