I know this message is a little old, but I am facing the same thing you are. I have the stock Tokico's on a 2004 4wd and would want a firmer ride. How as the ride after you went with the bilstein as far as rough off road ruts?
Anyone know if these fit on 4th gen 2004 Runner 4x4 without modding? I found a set with less than 1k miles for $cheap
Don't really know which Bilstein's, but just want some improvement over my SR5 stock ride.
