Older thread but i like the subject. I tried to keep weight in mind with my truck. Went with levl 8 Mk6 wheels (average weight) and the BF goodrich A/T's in load C (way lighter than most offroad tiers). Even though it does add weight/ I went with aluminum skid plates from RCI. Other than...
I live in az and paid 7200 for my truck that had ~150k on it about 4 months ago. 2006 v8 4x4. I got a good deal, that truck normally goes for around what he's asking i'd guess.
The King mounts dropped the swaybar so should be good there but thanks!
I will likely go spacers but if you have any good wheel recommendations, let me know. Wouldn't mind some lighter wheels with proper offset.
Update — took it off road today and under heavy articulation, the tire hits the spc uca. So with the sway bar and that issues I’m betting some 1.25 inch spidertrax and will see how that goes. Guessing more trimming will be needed ha!
Appreciate the concern for sure. It touches the sway bar at full lock when turned toward passenger side I believe. Already looking into (quality) spacers but it’s not rubbing while just sitting on driveway.
Hey Seatowner -- Just got my tires installed.
Specs
King 2.5" lift
SPC UCA's
dobinsons lift springs in rear
285/70 r17 BF Goodrich Load C K02's
After install i had some rub on the front. Had to relocate inner fenders liners and cut the front mudflaps. Also found at full lock the driver side...
Thanks for the responses guys. So montigo-- you don't see rubbing offroad after BMC? Good to hear!
Seatowner, check back in a few weeks. I am running those exact wheels as well and can update (though i belive montigo on his comment so planning on it).
Hey guys getting ready to add 285/70 r17 BFG KO's (load c) to my truck with 17" trail wheels, SPC UCA's and 2.5" lift.
Wondering for those of you who have a similar setup do you still rub when flexing off road? Or is rubbing eliminated?
Hey guys, I have been looking at tires a lot lately. I have come pretty close to a decision thanks to the search function here and some good info from MAST4R. With that in mind I figured I'd pass the info I gathered on to you guys. This is not an all inclusive list but may help in future tire...
Awesome-- Yeah sounds like your 4th gen is a different animal than what i am looking at doing. Funny you mention Filthy Motorsports, I talked with Ben for about an hour and came up with the setup I mentioned. Truck will be a lot of highway but some 4x4ing as well. Really want a smooth ride...
Hey wanted to first say, this truck looks awesome. Second I wanted to see how your are liking the King 2.5 setup. Looking at buying this with adjusters SPC uppers for my 06 4runner and would be great to hear how you are linking it!
