Did you grease the bjs and polybushings on ur upper control arms? Check your tie rod ends and lower bjs too. If it were a problem with your shocks or springs you would hear the noise everytime the suspension compresses and rebounds. I'm betting its your tie rod ends though.

Should we bring 2 way radios to communicate on the trail? I usually have 2 on me in my 4runner for whatever ocassion.

Hungry valley/Gorman all the way. Most trails are easy. Park rangers roam around so if u ever get yourself in a bind they can help you out. They reopened most of the trails to the west. Used to a lot of trees, but now there just burnt and blackened trees. PowerLine Rd is an easy very scenic...

Does any one know if chains full b needed? Debating on if I should run to Walmart and scoop some up. Or if anyone knows a spot I can get them for cheaper the $75.

With ur engine warmed up put a voltmeter on the battery terminals. Should read at around 13.5v with no accessory lights on. It's funny cuz mine will be 13.7volts at idle but if I open the door and the dome and door lights come on it drops the voltage to 13.5 - 13.6v. The 3.0 slow alternators...

any updates? I helped a friend with his 1991 4runner v6. He had the exact same problem. I was guessing the thrust washers were too thick but the stealer ship said there is only one part number that comes up for the thrust washers. So we ended up installing the locker without the thrust washers...
