I am going to try this out too, My lights are out for a while now and the dealer told me its cost more than 500 to fix... and I decided to leave it alone.

Can you elaborate a little about which rubber stops? are you talking about the D ring that the hatch latches to?? Mine has a lot of noise and it is bothering me, could it be the suspension problem?? all yeah I taped all the D-ring see if I still have that problem tomorrow. thanks
