Anybody want a 1990 factory manual set(4 books)

I'm going to put them up on the board here, local CL 2nd, then ebay if cl does not work. They are mint, IE look unused. They consist of the following: - Vol 1, Engine, Specifications - Vol 2, Chassis - Vol 3, Body, Electrical, Specifications - Repair Manual Supplement(IE updates), Engine...

94 4Runner lift with rear sag questions.

Since the truck already had new rear springs installed, it needs control/lateral arm bushings. Replace them with urethane. I did ours years ago, and it has yet to sag. The response is better and the tracking is vastly improved on the road. With the "rear 4runner sag" issue, it is usually two...

    "Ten emerging collector vehicles"

Interesting. Thanks for posting. I think they are late in the game though(on a few of the models discussed). The first gens have been rising here in PNW for some time(number of years) now. The entry level truck is now the 2nd gen, which can be had for well under 10k in pretty mint shape...

Welcome. That truck looks fantastic! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you get it for? If you need any technical stuff, I've got the 4 volume factory manual set for the 1990 model year. You just don't see them that clean anymore. I love the original mats! Wish I could get a set for our...

    New here - good deal?

Well, if it helps, we had offers on our (one family owned) 1990 4runner(98k, no rust, no needs) of 4.8-5k, readily. I was asking 5500, and the guy would not meet me in the middle, so were keeping it for a bit. Maybe this will give you an idea of the market(PNW). The fact it's, effectively, a...

    Wiring Diagram

Not a big deal, just use the solid colored wires for the new speakers. When they wired these trucks, it was done in their own way. They really were not meant to have exotic additives like a radio, power windows and a/c, per say. regards

    Wiring Diagram

I have a factory wiring manual for 1990. They indicate the left side wires as Yellow and Black. The right side are White and Red. It also indicates some circuits there for the power harness for the antenna (L-Y, B-R, P-L, L-Y). They originally installed the rear speakers in the plastic side...

    3.0 fuel injector replacement

You might consider, while in there, resealing the injector housings along with the injectors themselves. Since you've pulled the intake, I'd clean out the throttle body and ohm out the coolant sensor. The sensors, when they are going south, can really kill mpg and give all sorts of running...

    Help! '90 4Runner stereo problems

When they wired these trucks, it was pretty old school. Many of the systems can be inter-connected, when they should not. Some person might have also done a "hack fix" in there. Volume 3 of the factory manual set, which has the electricals, is massive. It's a good reference. regards

    Help! '90 4Runner stereo problems

You've probably got a broken wire in the door harness. Your going to need to open it up. Usually, the break is in the jam area where the movement is. regards

    1st get to 2nd gen

The key with any 4runner, is the level of care and maintenance it received in it's life. This could be said of any used vehicle. Our 1990 4runner(V6, auto, 4wd) has been dead reliable, with 98k on it, and uses zero oil. It's hard finding a decent 2nd, or even 3rd gen these days. Most have been...

    Power window issues

You might pull the driver's door panel and switch assembly to see if you have power coming in and out. It's not uncommon to have a harness break in the door jam area. regards

    Why no love?

I believe they were the 255 units. You'll find the sag is not just due to the poor spring quality from Toyota. It's also due to the bushing failure in the rear control arms as well. So, you might consider a rear suspension rebuild while your in there. regards

    Why no love?

Yes. It was an unknown name, to me, and research into a new set of bars all led me to Sway-a-Way. They have been producing them for decades and are well known in the Porsche community with high regard. They have worked quite well me previously on air cooled Porsche's. The powder coated finish...
